Brooklyn rapper Ronald "Ra Diggs" Herron was charged with three counts of murder on Monday, including one he tweeted about.

According to the New York Daily News, federal prosecutors have indicted Herron for the 2001 slaying of Frederick Brooks, as well as the murders of Richard Russo in 2008 and Victor Zapata in 2009.

The Bloods leader was tried for the murder of Brooks back in 2001, but was acquitted of the charges when two witnesses refused to testify, after they were threatened by some of Herron's fellow gangmembers.

"Ronald Herron and his gang terrorized a Brooklyn community for more than a decade and he temporarily got away with murder by threatening and intimidating witnesses only to return to the streets of Brooklyn to kill and kill again," Brooklyn US Attorney Loretta Lynch said.

Herron has been held in jail since October 2010, when he and nine other people were arrested after police cracked a heroin ring in Brooklyn.
