Blue Ivy Carter, the newborn baby of musicians Beyonce and Jay-Z, is only a couple of days old, but illuminati, Satanist and Freemasonry conspiracy theories are already being hatched about the young child.
There is a rich history of top musicians being targeted by such rumors, but the stakes are exceptionally high in the case of Blue Ivy Carter, who is the daughter of pop music's reigning king and queen.
The most prominent of the conspiracy theories, which spread like wildfire (no pun intended) across the internet after the girl's Saturday birth was announced over the weekend has its roots in Satanism and related studies.
This theory alleges that Blue Ivy is a reworking of the name Eulb Yvi, which Twitter users and other conspiracy theorists allege is the name of Satan's daughter, though there has been no evidence to prove such a concept.
"Jay-Z & Beyonce named their daughter Ivy Blue, Ivy Blue = Eulb Yvi, which was the name of lucifer's daughter in latin !" Twitter user MrZou posted Sunday, perpetuating the story.

Another unbacked theory claims that numerology explains an occult or illuminati connection between Blue Ivy Carter and Satanism.
"Ivy (position in alphabet) - I=9 V=22 Y=25 - 2+2+2+5=11 - 11x9=99 - flip 99 round and add another 6 and you get 666 :O #Illuminati," Tweeted @Merkzbeatbox late Saturday evening.
The nearly-incomprehensible theory has also been impossible to prove, and just adds to hype surrounding the birth of Jay and Beyonce's first child.
Twitter user Jothebarbarian went even further, insinuating incorrectly that Beyonce's pregnancy was way shorter than usual, and that such a claim suggests that the birth is connected with the illuminati.
"Is it me or was bey only pregnant for like 3 mo's before givin birth? #illuminati ?" Jothebarbarian asked.
In the end there is no evidence of such a conspiracy, but the rumours are sure to keep coming as excitement continues about Jay-Z and Beyonce's newborn daughter Blue Ivy Carter.
Celebrity news site GlobalGrind explained the meaning behind Blue Ivy Carter, saying "Blue" is a tribute to Jay-Z's who has had major hits with albums named "Blueprint." Blue also contains four letters, and Beyonce has a fondness for the number according to the site, which added that blue represents the heavens and symbolizes inspiration, sincerity and spirituality.
The site explains that "Ivy" comes from the plant, which symbolizes eternity, and that Greek and Romans have held the plant in high esteem for its longevity and hardiness.
Good Morning America said Jay and Beyonce chose "Ivy" because they have a preference for the number for, as in the Roman numeral "IV."
