There's not much to be thankful for if you were working on Wall Street this week. Stocks tumbled for the seventh session in a row, helping push the Standard & Poor's 500 down 4.7 percent according to the New York Daily News.

It was the worst performance of a Thanksgiving week since 1932. The Dow closed at 11,231.78, which was down .23 percent and its worst week in two months. Similarly, the Nasdaq closed at 2,441.51, which was down .75 percent.

Stock indexes were down largely because of the bad news emanating from Europe. Hungary's credit rating was cut and Italy's borrowing costs rose, according to the Daily News. The day after Thanksgiving, though marked by an increase in retail sales, is the lightest day of trading volume of the year.
