Pittsburgh residents flooded to the streets on Sunday as three batmobile tumblers cruised by, followed by a live fight between Batman and Bane.

The scene that unfolded outside Carnegie Mellon University was part of a shoot for the much-awaited "The Dark Knight Rises," staring Christian Bale as Batman and Tom Hardy as supervillain Bane.

Production of Christopher Nolan's third Batman film started in the city last week and will be filmed in India, England, Scotland, New York City and Los Angeles, MSNBC reported.

"We'll be fighting in your streets a great deal." Christian Bale said speaking at a press conference. "Thank you so much for your generosity of spirit and hospitality ahead of time."

"The Dark Knight Rises" will be in theaters in the summer of 2012.
